FULL AFTERCARE GUIDE TO YOUR LASH EXTENSIONS

DON’T GET YOUR LASHES WET FOR 48HRS
This one’s serious, babe! Avoid getting your lashes wet for 48 hours after your appointment. Why? Let me break it down:
Ouch Alert! You could experience a chemical burn (mild, but still a burn) if water reacts with the adhesive too soon.
The Sticky Situation: If your lashes get wet too soon, they can clump together, leaving you with painful, stuck-together lashes that will need an emergency removal.
Ping! Off They Go: All your lovely lashes could ping right off, and we don’t want that drama, do we?

Brush Your Lashes Daily – Keep 'Em Looking Fluffy!
Your lashes deserve a little love and care, babe. You can start brushing them on the day of your appointment, but don’t go overboard – brushing morning and night is all you need. Think of it like giving your lashes a beauty boost!
💨 Extra Tip: If it’s a windy day or you’ve just been swimming, you might want to give them a gentle brush to bring them back to life.
How to Brush Like a Lash Queen
1️⃣ Top or Bottom – Your Choice: You can brush your lashes from above or underneath. Both work beautifully, so it’s all about what feels right for you.
2️⃣ Brush Tip Trick: If you’re brushing from underneath, use the tip of the brush instead of the whole barrel. It’s just easier that way – trust me!
3️⃣ Be Gentle, Gorgeous: There’s no strict lash law here. You’ll find your own brushing style, but whatever you do, be gentle. These beauties are delicate and deserve that tender care.

WASH YOUR LASHES (AFTER 48HRS)
Alright, gorgeous, it’s time to talk about lash hygiene! Just like the rest of your body, your lashes need regular cleaning. After 48 hours, the glue has fully cured – meaning your lashes are ready to get wet! Let’s keep them looking lush and lasting long by giving them some TLC.
Why Cleaning Is a Must
✨ Oil and Makeup Build-Up: Natural oils and makeup love to camp out along your lash line, and trust me, they build up quickly. If left unchecked, this dirt starts breaking down the glue, leading to lash fallout. Ever brushed your lashes and noticed a clump on the brush? Yeah… not fun! 😬
✨ Appointment Time Drama: If your lashes are clogged with makeup and oils when you come for infills, I’ll have to spend time picking and cleaning them instead of focusing on giving you new beautiful lashes. Plus, any leftover dirt means I can’t guarantee how long the new extensions will last. Cleaning your lashes daily saves us both the hassle and ensures your lashes stay stunning!
How to Wash Your Lashes
There’s a handy video showing you how to wash your lashes – whether you’re using water or my specially-formulated Lash Shampoo. Here’s why I recommend my shampoo:
- It’s gentle but strong enough to clean makeup without breaking down the adhesive.
- I’ve worked hard to find the perfect formula that protects your lashes and keeps them fluffy!
Of course, you can buy lash shampoo elsewhere, but I can’t guarantee how it’ll affect your lashes. Use mine for peace of mind and a perfect clean every time. 💖

And if you prefer written instructions, I’ve got you covered below! Follow these steps to keep your lashes fresh, clean, and gorgeous every day.

Use Oil-Free Cosmetics – Keep Your Lashes Happy
Here’s the deal, babe: oil and lash glue do not get along. I’ve tested countless glues that claimed to work with oil, and guess what? Nope. Not happening. So, my golden rule? Stay away from oil as much as you can when it comes to your face products.
Why Oil Is a No-Go
🌿 Oil Weakens the Glue: Even a little bit of oil can start breaking down the adhesive holding your lash extensions in place, causing them to fall out sooner than they should. And we don’t want that drama, do we?
💄 Hidden Oils in Cosmetics: Unfortunately, most makeup and skincare products contain oil. The good news? Many brands now offer oil-free options, so if you’re able to switch to those, go for it! But even if you can’t, no worries—just be mindful. Oils from your skin or products will naturally move throughout the day (thank you, gravity!), eventually landing in your lash line.
🧼 Solution? Daily Cleansing: This is why cleaning your lashes every day is so important. It helps remove any sneaky oils before they can mess with your gorgeous lashes.

Do Not Use Mascara – It’s a Lash Nightmare!
Let’s talk about mascara, babe. As a Lash Tech, I can tell you that mascara is my worst enemy when it comes to lash extensions. Seriously, it’s a total disaster! Here’s why:
Why Mascara and Extensions Don’t Mix
🎭 Clogged Lashes: Mascara coats both your natural and false lashes, making it a nightmare to remove without damaging the extensions.
🔄 Poor Adhesion: If there’s any mascara left on your natural lashes during your next infill, the glue won’t stick properly. This means your beautiful new extensions will fall off way too soon. Not cute. 😤
🚫 The Golden Rule: No mascara, gorgeous. Just say no. Trust me, your lashes will thank you, and you’ll stay fabulous with that full, fluttery look you love.
Stick to this rule, and you’ll avoid the dreaded ‘clumpy lash’ drama. Plus, who needs mascara when you’ve already got stunning extensions anyway?

No Curling or Tinting Your Lashes – Keep Them Safe!
Listen up, gorgeous: your false lashes are already perfectly styled, so there’s no need to curl, perm, or tint them. Doing any of these will cause serious damage and could ruin your lashes—both false and natural!
Why You Should Skip It
🔥 Curling: Lash extensions are designed to hold their shape. Using a lash curler can kink, break, or weaken them. And nobody wants wonky lashes!
🎨 Tinting: The chemicals in tint can break down the adhesive and weaken the fibers of the lash extensions, leading to shedding.
🌊 Perming: This one’s a hard no! Perming will destroy the structure of your extensions and possibly damage your natural lashes too.

Do Not Pick or Pull Your Lashes – Hands Off, Gorgeous!
Alright babe, I hate to break it to you, but there’s no more playing with your lashes! No picking, pulling, or rubbing those beautiful eyes. I know it can be tempting, but here’s why it’s a no-go:
Why You Need to Leave Them Be
🚫 Damage Alert: Picking or pulling can cause your natural lashes to come out along with the extensions, and we definitely don’t want that. Your natural lashes need time to grow and stay healthy underneath those fabulous falsies. You can cause permanent lash damage!
👀 Eye Irritation: Rubbing your eyes can lead to irritation, redness, and even inflammation. No one wants sore, itchy eyes!
🌟 Let Them Shine: The less you touch them, the longer your extensions will last, keeping that full, gorgeous look intact for weeks.
So hands off, babe! Love your lashes and they will love you back.

No Hair Dryers on Your Lashes – Heat and Glue Don’t Play Nice
You heard me, babe—keep that hair dryer away from your lashes! I know it might seem like a quick way to dry them after washing, but trust me, it’s not worth the risk. Here’s what can happen if you blast your extensions with heat:
The Risks of Using a Hair Dryer
🔥 Sticky Situation: The heat can soften the adhesive, causing your lashes to clump together (we call this “stickies”). Clumped lashes = discomfort, pain, and damage. No thanks!
💨 Curl Killer: That beautiful lash curl I carefully crafted? It can go poof in seconds if exposed to high heat, leaving your lashes straight and lifeless.
What to Do Instead
- Air Dry is Best: After washing your lashes, gently pat around your eyes with a soft micro fiber towel and let them air dry. (which I do Sell)
- Need a Boost? If you’re in a rush, use a handheld fan or gently wave your hand to speed up the drying process. No heat, no harm!
Your lashes are delicate beauties. Treat them with care and keep the hair dryer far, far away! ✨

Avoid Heat and Steam – Say No to Stickies!
Listen up, gorgeous: any type of heat—whether it’s from steam, saunas, the hob, or even the sun—can wreak havoc on your lash extensions. Here’s why you need to be careful:
What Heat and Steam Can Do
🔥 Sticky Situation: Heat can soften the adhesive, causing your lashes to stick together in clumps. Once this happens, they won’t just magically unstick—they’ll stay clumped and may need professional removal ASAP. Trust me, it’s not worth the hassle or the pain!
🌞 Straightened Curl: Steam and heat can also relax the curl of your lash extensions, leaving them looking flat and lifeless instead of beautifully lifted.
How to Protect Your Lashes
- Avoid prolonged exposure to steam and heat. This includes steam rooms, saunas, jacuzzis, and even standing over a boiling hob.
- Be mindful of direct sunlight on extremely hot days. Your lashes deserve a bit of shade, just like your skin!
- After exposure to steam, let your lashes cool down naturally and gently brush them to check for any stickiness.
Keep this in mind, babe, and your lashes will stay full, fluffy, and perfectly curled. You’ve got this! ✨

Sunbeds & Spray Tans – Be Lash Smart
Sunbeds and spray tans can definitely mess with your lash extensions if you’re not careful. Don’t worry though—I’ve got the lowdown on how to enjoy your glow-up without sacrificing those gorgeous lashes.
Sunbeds – What to Watch For
🌞 Wait 48 Hours: Just like with water, you’ll need to wait a full 48 hours before using a sunbed. This gives the glue time to cure completely.
🧴 Mind the Creams: Many sunbed lotions and creams contain oils, which are a big no-no for lash extensions. Oils can break down the glue, leading to lash fallout. If you’re using any sunbed products, try to keep them away from your lash line.
Spray Tans – Extra Care Needed
🌟 Wait 48 Hours: Same rule applies—let your lashes fully cure before getting sprayed.
💧 Wash Those Lashes: Spray tan solutions often contain oils, and the spray will inevitably get onto your lashes. As soon as you can after your session, gently wash your lashes to remove any residue. This will prevent the oils from causing stickiness or lash loss.
By following these tips, you can keep your tan glowing and your lashes looking flawless.

Facials & Face Treatments – Lash Awareness is Key
Yes, babe, you can absolutely have facials and other face treatments—but there are a few things you need to watch out for to protect your lashes. Here’s the scoop:
What to Keep in Mind
🧴 Products Around the Eyes: If the treatment involves applying products on or near your eyelids, those products will likely contain oils that can weaken the glue and cause lash extensions to come loose.
💆♀️ Even Indirect Exposure: Even if the products aren’t directly applied to your eyes, oils from moisturizers, masks, or serums can still migrate down to your lash line. And as we know, oil and lash glue just don’t get along!
What You Can Do
✨ Communicate with Your Therapist: Let them know you have lash extensions, and ask them to avoid applying any products directly to your eye area.
✨ Clean Your Lashes After Treatment: Once you’re home, gently wash your lashes to remove any oil-based residue that may have made its way onto them.
With a little extra care, you can still enjoy those relaxing facials while keeping your lashes looking lush and full.

Lint Loves Your Lashes – Watch Out!
Let me tell you, babe—lint is your lashes’ worst enemy. It loves to cling to those extensions and once it’s wrapped around, it’s almost impossible to get off! Here’s what to be mindful of when it comes to linty products:
What to Avoid
🍼 Baby Wipes & Facial Wipes: These might seem convenient, but they often leave behind tiny fibers that latch onto your lashes. Skip the wipes!
💨 Cotton Pads: Cotton pads and balls shed fluff like crazy. If you’ve ever tried to pick cotton fibers off your lashes, you know it’s a nightmare. Avoid them altogether.
📄 Tissue Paper: Even tissues can leave behind lint, especially if you’re dabbing near your eyes. Be careful when using them.
Better Alternatives
- Lint-Free Pads: If you need to wipe near your eyes, use lint-free makeup pads. They’re designed to avoid shedding fibers.
- Gentle Washing: Stick to your lash washing routine to keep your extensions clean and free of annoying lint.
Stay mindful, and you’ll avoid the dreaded lint invasion! Let’s keep those lashes looking flawless and fuzz-free, gorgeous!

Eyeliner – Yes, But Be Lash-Smart!
Good news, babe—you can still wear eyeliner, but there are some things to keep in mind to protect your lash extensions.
What You Need to Know
🖤 Go Oil-Free: Ideally, use an oil-free eyeliner. Since eyeliner sits right on the lash line, any oil-based product will seep into the glue throughout the day and slowly break it down. Not what we want!
🧼 Cleaning Struggles: Even oil-free eyeliner can be tricky to clean. It sneaks between your lashes, making it harder to wash out completely.
The Golden Rule for Eyeliner Lovers
✨ Wash Your Lashes Daily: If you’re an eyeliner fan, this step isn’t optional—it’s essential! You must wash your lashes daily to remove all traces of product and prevent glue damage.
Stick to these tips and you can rock that liner without compromising your fabulous lashes.

Going on Holiday – Keep Your Lashes Looking Fabulous!
Heading off on holiday? Amazing! But babe, let’s be real—holidays come with all kinds of lash challenges. Whether you’re basking in the sun, taking a dive in the pool, or hitting up the spa, here’s how to keep your lashes happy and healthy.
Sun & Skincare
🌞 Watch That Suncream: We all need sun protection (especially on the face), but most suncreams contain oil. And you guessed it—those oils will slowly make their way into your lash line. It’s unavoidable! The fix? At the end of the day, make sure to wash your lashes thoroughly to remove any oily residue.
🌡️ Mind the Heat: If you’re a sun worshiper like me, be aware of how long you’re exposed to intense heat. In really hot weather, the sun can heat up the glue, causing your lashes to clump together. You can carry a clean bottle of water with you and give your lashes a gentle rinse every so often, followed by a quick brush-through.
Pool & Sea Adventures
💦 Get Wet, Babe: Love a good run-and-jump bomb into the pool or sea? No worries—you can absolutely get your lashes wet! Just be mindful of the chlorine in pools and the salt from seawater. Once you’re done with your water fun, grab that clean bottle of water again, rinse your lashes, and brush them out to prevent any build-up.
Spa Days
🧖♀️ Steam and Sauna Alert: If you’re planning a relaxing spa day, be mindful of the steam in saunas and steam rooms. Too much heat can soften the glue, causing your lashes to clump or lose their curl. Limit your time in those steamy spots and cool off in between sessions to protect your lash extensions.
With these tips, you can enjoy your holiday without sacrificing your stunning lashes. So go on, babe—soak up the sun, take a dive, and relax, all while keeping your lashes on point!

Mind How You Sleep – Protect Those Lashes!
Alright babe, let’s talk beauty sleep—literally! How you sleep can have a big impact on your lash extensions. If you’re a side sleeper or love to sleep face-down, the chances of losing or flattening your lashes are much higher. But don’t worry, I’ve got some tips to help you protect those gorgeous lashes overnight.
Best Sleep Practices for Lash Extensions
🛏️ Sleep on Your Back: I know it’s easier said than done, but sleeping on your back is the best way to keep your lashes in perfect shape. Less pressure on your face = fewer lost or squished lashes.
💡 Silk Pillowcase: A silk pillowcase isn’t just luxurious—it’s practical too! It reduces friction and tugging on your lashes, helping them stay intact and fluffy.
😴 Lash-Friendly Sleep Mask: If you love wearing a sleep mask, opt for one with indentations or a dome-shaped design. This type of mask keeps your lashes free and prevents them from being squashed during the night.
Getting your beauty sleep doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your lashes. With these tips, you’ll wake up looking fabulous and ready to take on the day!

Lash Shedding – It’s Totally Normal!
Let’s get real—lash shedding is a big mystery to most clients, but I’m here to drop some lash knowledge! Your natural lashes go through three stages in their growth cycle. I jokingly call them The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (because who really remembers the scientific names anyway & what they mean?).
Lash Growth Cycle 101
🟢 The Good Stage: This is when your natural lashes are strong and growing—perfect for lash extensions!
🟡 The Bad Stage: Lashes are still growing, but slower. They’re holding on but starting to weaken.
🔴 The Ugly Stage: Lashes have reached their end. They’re ready to shed, making room for new growth.
We naturally lose lashes every day—sometimes without even noticing. But when you have lash extensions, the loss is much more noticeable. Don’t panic! This is completely normal and healthy.
Seasonal Shedding
The lash growth cycle also speeds up when the seasons change. It’s common to see more shedding in both winter and summer. However, shedding can still happen regularly throughout the year. Everyone’s cycle is different!
Asymmetrical Shedding (aka One Eye Is Weaker)
Did you know that one eye can shed more lashes than the other? It’s true! Over time, the growth cycle often shifts between your eyes. For a few months, one eye may seem “weaker,” shedding more lashes than the other, but eventually, the roles will reverse.
Balancing Your Lash Look
A good lash tech knows how to balance your extensions to account for natural differences between your eyes. For example, if one eye has 100 natural lashes and the other has only 50, I’m not going to apply the same number of extensions to each eye—otherwise, you’d walk out looking lopsided!
Extensions pinging off!
It’s also possible to lose a few lashes within the first couple of days after your appointment. I’ve tried every trick in the book to eliminate this, but a few pings here and there are unavoidable. If you’re noticing just a couple, no need to worry—it’s normal! But if they’re all falling off? That’s not typical. Please message me right away so I can troubleshoot the issue.
Understanding your lash cycle is key to managing your expectations and keeping your lashes healthy and gorgeous. Remember, shedding is a natural part of the process—so don’t stress, babe!

Book Your Next Infill – Keep Those Lashes Gorgeous!
If you want to maintain your stunning lash extensions and protect the health of your natural lashes, infills are a must! Everyone’s lash growth cycle is different, so how often you need an infill will depend on your own lashes. Here’s the lowdown:
How Often Should You Get Infills?
🗓️ Flexible Scheduling: Infills can be done weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or even every six weeks depending on how fast your natural lashes grow. Most of my clients prefer coming back every 2 weeks for the best results.
🔄 Why Infills Are Important:
- As your natural lashes grow out, the extensions stay attached, which can cause the weight of the false lash to pull your natural lash down.
- If left too long, this can lead to tangling or excess tension on the natural lash. When you go to brush, you risk pulling out the lash before it’s ready, potentially causing damage that could prevent that lash from growing back.
By keeping up with your infills, I can safely remove and replace any overgrown extensions, ensuring your natural lashes stay healthy and fabulous. So go on, babe—book your next appointment and let’s keep that lash magic going! ✨

STEP BY STEP ON WASHING YOUR LASHES
Keeping your lashes clean is essential, babe! Here’s how to do it right, whether you’re using just water or my specially formulated lash shampoo. And remember—clean your lashes daily! Period. No excuses. 😊
Method 1: Cleaning with Water

Wet Your Lashes:
Completely wet your lashes using water. You can do this over a sink, in the bath, or in the shower.

Brush Your Eyelids:
- Use your fingers to gently rub around your eyes and eyelids with water to loosen dirt and oils.
- If you’re wearing makeup, you may need to repeat this step a few times to fully remove it. Be gentle!

Brush Your Lashes:
- Grab a clean, wet mascara wand (lash brush) and gently brush your lashes from the base of the lash line outwards.
- Focus on getting into the lash line to remove any build-up. Do this a few times to make sure they’re clean.

Rinse Again:
Rinse your lashes thoroughly with water to remove any remaining dirt.

Dry Your Lashes:
- Use a microfiber towel (which I sell!) to gently pat your lashes dry. No rubbing—just press and hold for a second, then repeat a few times.
- Brush your lashes out and let them air dry. If you have a mini fan, you can use that to speed up the drying process.
Method 2: Cleaning with Lash Shampoo

Lightly Wet Your Lashes:
Gently splash a little water on your lashes. No need to soak them—just get them damp.

Shake the Shampoo:
Shake the shampoo bottle for a few seconds to mix it well.

Apply the Shampoo:
Pump 1 to 2 pumps of shampoo onto one eye.

Clean Your Lashes:
- Use your lash shampoo brush to gently work the shampoo through your lashes in circular motions.
- Focus on getting between the lashes and into the lash line for about a minute.
- If needed, you can also use a mascara wand to really get into the base of the lashes and brush them out while the shampoo is still on.

Wash the Eyelid Area:
Use the shampoo brush to gently clean over your eyelids and the underneath side of your lashes to remove any makeup or build-up.

Rinse Thoroughly:
This step is crucial! Lash shampoo is highly concentrated, so you need to rinse really well—at least five times with clean water to ensure all the shampoo is out.

Dry Your Lashes:
- Use a microfiber towel to dab your lashes dry (no rubbing!). Press gently on your lashes and hold for a second, repeating 2 to 3 times.
- Brush them out and allow them to air dry. If you have a mini fan, you can use it to help dry them faster.

Repeat on the Other Eye:
Move on to the other eye and follow the same steps.
